Zonta

This initiative is part of ZCME’s ongoing efforts to nurture young leaders committed to advancing the status of women and girls through service and advocacy. The formation of the club was finalized during a meeting with key UMak officials: Prof. Michael Alviar of the College of Innovative Education, and Mr. Bernard Pagulayan, Administrative Officer at the Center for Student Organizations and Activities. Prof. Alviar, who will serve as the club’s adviser, brings his expertise in Professional Education and English Specialization, as well as his leadership in overseeing teaching internships. Mr. Pagulayan works under the direction of Prof. Angelito Vargas and will play a supportive role in the club’s operations.

Representing ZCME were President Joanne Zapanta-Andrada, President-elect Marcy Kohchet-Chua, Z and Golden Z Club Chairperson Maritoni Rufino-Tordesillas, and member Jocel Labrador. Ms. Labrador will help guide the club’s launch and development, bringing her global expertise in human resources management to ensure a strong foundation and sustainable growth.

The establishment of the Golden Z Club at UMak reflects a shared commitment to fostering socially responsible leadership among students. ZCME anticipates a dynamic and impactful collaboration with the university as they work together to create positive change in the lives of women and girls both locally and globally.
