Biennium 2024–2026 Accomplishment Report
From June 2024 to May 2026, the Zonta Club of Makati & Environs Foundation, Inc. (ZCME) embarked on an extraordinary journey under the leadership of President Joanne Zapanta-Andrada. Guided by the principles of Membership, Advocacy, Governance, Involvement and Service — MAGIS+ — the Club reached new heights, strengthened its impact, empowered more women and girls, expanded its partnerships, and built a stronger, more sustainable organization, all in service of a single mission: to empower women and girls through service and advocacy, creating lasting change in our communities and beyond. In her foreword to the report, President Joanne wrote: "Leadership is never about one person. Every milestone we achieved was made possible because of the dedication, generosity, and unwavering commitment of every Zontian, our partners, our sponsors, and our volunteers. Together, we proved that when women lead with compassion, integrity, and purpose, we can truly build a better world for women and girls."
The legacy of the biennium is written in numbers. ZCME inducted 16 new Zontians while maintaining 71 active members, reached 250 students through the Women in STEM Forum held in collaboration with the Zonta Club of Cavite, and served 600 Brigada Ezkuwela beneficiaries over two years with school supplies, bags, shoes and comprehensive educational support. The HerLegaZ Podcast added 15 new episodes, The Little Vintage Shop raised PHP 3.4 million for Club programs, and total sponsorships reached PHP 3,172,000. Service deepened across every flagship project: a PHP 268,000 donation to the Marillac Psychological Center alongside academic tutorials, skills development, livelihood opportunities and mental health support for abused girls; Golden Z Clubs established and strengthened at the University of Makati, Taguig City University and St. Scholastica's College; medical missions, a menstrual health program and the KababaihanZ livelihood project reaching marginalized communities; and immediate relief for the victims of Typhoons Carina and Kristine, the Cebu earthquake, and the Happyland and Tondo fires. On governance, the Club renewed its PCNC accreditation for another five years, its BIR tax exemption and its DSWD license to operate, and held strategic planning sessions, regular board meetings and a Club Officers Orientation on Leadership Enhancement in Action and Development (LEAD).
Excellence was recognized at every level. At the Zonta International District 17 Awards, ZCME emerged as one of the most awarded clubs in the District, taking Gold for Most Outstanding Club of Area 5, Silver for Best Service Project and for New Golden Z Club, and Merit for Zonta Says NOW. Area 5 conferred the MAGIS+ Excellence Award and the Community Bridge-Builder Award on the Club, while President Joanne Z. Andrada received the Trailblazer Award and the Governor's Dazzling Diamond Award. Elgene Bermudez won the 2024 Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship Award. On the global stage, ZCME represented the Philippines at the Zonta International Convention in Brisbane, the Asian Inter-District Meeting in Fukuoka and the District 17 Conference in Macau, and organized the Areas 1 and 5 Celebration of Zonta's 105th Birthday honoring ZI Past President Olivia A. Ferry. Every number represents a life touched, every program represents hope given, and every partnership represents strength multiplied — a biennium that inspired hope, created opportunities, and left a lasting legacy.
